Recovering Costs from Metrolinx
If you've travelled along Eglinton Avenue, you are likely familiar with the many potholes, cracks, and uneven patches on the surface of the road.
Councillor Robinson has consistently advocated for measures to minimize the impacts of construction on local communities. Earlier this spring, she voted to seek reimbursement from Metrolinx for the costs of road damage on Eglinton Avenue resulting from construction of the Crosstown LRT.
City staff are now undertaking a comprehensive assessment of Eglinton Avenue to determine the sections that have been affected during construction of the Crosstown. In addition to damages from construction activity, the impacts of re-routing, lane diversions, and heavy construction traffic are also being considered.
Staff are expected to provide another update in Q2 2020. Councillor Robinson's team will continue sharing feedback from Ward 15 residents with Transportation staff while the assessment is completed.
