Public Health Update

On January 14, the Premier issued a Province-wide stay-at-home order in response to rapidly rising case numbers. Under the new order, Torontonians are asked to remain at home except for essential outings, including trips to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing healthcare services, or getting physical exercise.

The Province has also extended the authority to enforce COVID-19 regulations – including the stay-at-home order and mandatory mask legislation – to all Provincial enforcement officers. Last weekend alone, the City issued more than 75 charges for COVID-19 violations, 41 of which were for illegal gatherings.

To help residents better understand the most current lockdown measures, the City has published a "Do's and Don'ts Guide" with simple, clear, and effective advice on the Provincial guidelines.
