Barriers on the Bayview Extension

During heavy rainfalls, the Don River has the potential to crest and flood sections of Bayview Avenue.

In response, Transportation Services has installed several swing gates along the Bayview Avenue Extension, from Moore Avenue to Pottery Road, to facilitate and expedite road closures during flooding events. The gates were installed as part of the City's Congestion Management Plan and help prevent motorists from becoming stranded in flooded sections of the roadway.
