An Innovative Approach to Violence Prevention – Expanded Funding for the BRAVE Program

Last week, I was pleased to join my colleagues and senior officials from Sunnybrook Hospital to announce enhanced funding for the BRAVE program, a trauma-informed approach to violence prevention that aims to provide patients with holistic supports and break the cycle of violence.

In 2020, City Council provided $100,000 to pilot the BRAVE program at Sunnybrook Hospital. To capitalize on the pilot's success, Council has now committed an additional $250,000 to the program.

I am so proud to represent Sunnybrook Hospital and the incredible work they do at City Hall, and am excited to work alongside their team to expand the BRAVE Program in Toronto. To learn more about the program and the City's role, click here.
