Multiplexes Consultation for Ward 15 – Don Valley West

On Monday, March 6th from 6:00-7:30pm, City Planning will be holding a ward-specific virtual consultation meeting for Don Valley West residents on multiplexes.

In 2019, City Planning began work on the Expanding Housing Options in Neighbourhoods (EHON) study, initiated by a Member's Motion at City Council. As part of the EHON study, City Planning has explored the possibility of introducing more housing options in neighbourhoods throughout the city, including garden suites, laneway suites, and multiplexes.

This month, City Planning began consultation on draft Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendments to permit Multiplexes, which are defined as dwellings containing two, three, or four residential units. You can find more information about the Multiplex study on the project webpage. I would encourage you to review the draft Official Plan amendments and draft Zoning By-law amendments and share your feedback with City Planning.

Given the complex nature of the proposed changes, I want to ensure that Don Valley West residents have an opportunity to learn about the Multiplexes and provide feedback directly to City Planning. For this reason, I moved a motion last term requesting an additional, ward-specific consultation meeting, supplemental to the city-wide meetings that took place last week.

I am pleased to advise that the Ward 15 virtual public consultation meeting will be held on Monday, March 6th from 6:00-7:30pm. City Planning staff will be reporting to the Planning and Housing Committee on April 27th and a final report will be considered by City Council on May 10th.

In order to attend the meeting, you must register in advance, here.

You can also provide your comments to City Planning staff until March 10th by emailing EHON@toronto.ca or by taking their public survey
