Status Update on the Committee of Adjustment

In a recent report to the Planning & Housing Committee, City Planning advised that they are retaining a consultant to fulfill City Council's request for an assessment of the Committee of Adjustment-related findings in the 2019 End-to-End Review of the Development Review Process. Once retained, the consultant's assessment is estimated to be complete by mid-2022 and City Planning will be in a position to provide an update shortly after.

While I advocated for a much broader, independent review of the Committee of Adjustment – including the many technical challenges that have impacted public participation in virtual hearings – I am looking forward to receiving the consultant's report.
