Green Energy Initiatives

HELPing Homeowners Go Green
The City of Toronto is encouraging residents to pursue home energy improvements through the Home Energy Loan Program (HELP), which was made permanent at the December 2021 City Council meeting.

HELP offers residents low-interest loans of up to $125,000 to cover the cost of various green home improvements, including high-efficiency water heaters, door and window replacements, solar photovoltaic panels, and electric vehicle chargers.

To learn more about this program and how to apply, visit the City of Toronto's HELP webpage.

EV Station Fund
To help encourage the use of Electric Vehicles (EVs), The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) has launched a new EV Station Fund. This $2 million fund provides municipalities, multi-family building owners, businesses, and other organizations with support to install new EV charging stations on streets and in parking lots.

Qualifying organizations only need to provide the space – TAF will supply the project planning, hardware, networking, and installation skills.
