Beginning in April, City staff began preparing to open seasonal park washrooms. While a number of park washrooms have been winterized, the majority are opened in early spring once there is no risk of frost damaging pipes. As of May 5th, 122 seasonal park washrooms are now fully opened.
This year, the City launched a new online map to allow residents and visitors to more easily find public washrooms and track their open/closed status. Other service improvements include updated signage that makes operating hours clearer to the public, an extended season in which park washrooms and water fountains are opened sooner in the spring and will close later in the fall, as well as improved peak season operating hours where park washrooms will remain open until 10:00pm through the summer.
