Building up the RentSafeTO Program: Stronger Apartment Building Standards
Beginning this year, the City of Toronto is strengthening the criteria used to evaluate apartment buildings through RentSafeTO, the City of Toronto's signature apartment building standards by-law enforcement program.
Every two years, trained By-law Enforcement Officers conduct a thorough evaluation of every single rental apartment building in Toronto. The results, which are posted on the City's website, are used to address deficiencies and determine next steps, including whether a building audit is required.
